Lift to the Terrace of the Quadrigas

The lift to the Terrace of the Quadrigas is located on the left side of the façade. It costs approximately €7 and is the only practical way to reach the panoramic terrace at the top of the building. The lift accommodates standard wheelchairs.

Opening times: Tuesday–Sunday, approximately 09:30–19:30 (verify updated hours on the official website). The terrace is closed on Mondays.

Toilets

The Vittoriano's toilet facilities include accessible bathrooms. They are located on the internal levels of the museum, reachable by lift.

Visitors with Visual Impairment

The monument does not have an official tactile route. Audio guides provide verbal descriptions of the main elements and are the primary support for visually impaired visitors. Specialist private guides can provide more detailed descriptions on request.

Visitors with Hearing Impairment

The museum has information panels and captions written in Italian. Audio guides are not currently available in Italian Sign Language (LIS). For groups with specific needs, contact the monument's reception in advance.

Access for Families with Prams

The Vittoriano is accessible with prams via the side entrance and lifts. The monumental staircase cannot be managed with a pram. The accessible side entrance allows all levels of the monument to be reached without lifting the pram.

Accessible Parking

There is no dedicated parking immediately adjacent to the Vittoriano. The nearest paid car parks are:

  • Via del Plebiscito (approximately 5 minutes on foot)
  • Villa Borghese car park with shuttle (for those arriving from the north)

Vehicles displaying a disability badge may park in the designated blue zones with a time disc in the Piazza Venezia area.

Accessible Transport

Bus: routes 40, 62, 63, 64 and others pass along Via del Corso or adjacent streets near Piazza Venezia. The nearest stop is accessible.

Metro: Metro B Colosseo station is approximately 10 minutes on foot — not the most convenient option for wheelchair users.

Taxi: Roman taxis are required to transport passengers with disabilities. Adapted taxis are available on request.
